Topic: Dazzling SharePoint with Silverlight Abstract: Silverlight and SharePoint are two up and coming technologies in the development world. SharePoint developers can create robust applications with a variety of tools, such as web parts, user controls, and workflows. Silverlight Developers can create aesthetically pleasing interfaces by harnassing the power of Expression Blend. In this session we will discuss how to blend together SharePoint and Silverlight. We will create some basic Silverlight Applications and discuss what changes a SharePoint Server needs before a Silverlight Application is viewable in a SharePoint Site Collection.
Bio: Becky Isserman has been a SharePoint Developer, since 2005 when she attended the Portal University with Levi, Ray, and Shoup in Springfield, IL. She is an Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) and a Microsoft Certified Application Developer (MCAD). She has been a web designer/developer since she was fifteen hand coding HTML 3.0 websites in NotePad. She enjoys working with SharePoint 2007, because she can perform the roles of administrator, developer, designer, and architect. She has presented at seven code camps, two conferences, and three user groups in the past two years. She currently lives in Olathe, Kansas working remotely for B&R Solutions. She lives with her two cats, Gambit and Rogue, plus her boyfriend, Johnny. At this month's meeting we are going to let you do the talking. The subject is favorites. What is your favorite software, utility, application etc. Where are the best places to find the best hardware, software, bargains. When you go shopping for you computer needs whatever they may be, do you have favorite sites or stores you frequent first?
What methods do you do/use to find the best price at the time? When you decide to get/purchase an item/program you do not normally purchase or possess little knowledge where do you go to educate yourself before you make your commitment. You get the idea. (We’ll learn about crosstab queries in general – why and how -- and we’ll also try to recreate Silvia Siren’s report that averaged the number records for each number of groups of records. But this time, we’ll use a crosstab query and see how far we get – that was a brilliant suggestion by Jim Hamilton!)

Speaker: Howard Davy Bio: Howard Davy is presently a SharePoint developer with Massman Construction. His duties include site collection development, work flows and web part development. He’s responsible for the SharePoint servers and the administrative duties for Massman.
Howard started his professional career in the US Army, repairing radar and electronics systems. Upon his discharge from the service, he began working as an electrical engineer working with control and instrumentation systems for various pumping applications across the US.
Howard has been working as a software developer since he graduated college with a Bachelors of Science in computer science in 2000. His first job out of college was developing expert systems and knowledge engineering for a company specializing in artificial intelligence applications primarily for military applications. He spent several years developing different software projects of varying types before settling on a position at Fort Leavenworth. He spent three years developing NET applications and SharePoint for the military at Ft. Leavenworth. Last August he accepted his present position with Massman Construction. Howard has lived in Kansas City for 6 years. He’s married and has a daughter. His hobbies include photography and creative writing. Topic: SharePoint Designer Workflow Howard will be speaking on the development of workflows within the SharePoint (MOSS) environment. His topic will include design and implementation strategies, SharePoint Designer as a development tool and a review of working systems. It will also include a look at site security and on-the-fly security management using workflow technology.
